EUROPA ROAD EXPANDS EUROPEAN GROUPAGE NETWORK

New partnerships with Heppner in France and Goldair Group in Greece strengthen cross-border connections and expand services on key European trade routes.

27 October 2026 – Shared quality standards, established processes and leading market positions: “We chose to work with Heppner and Goldair Group because our corporate values are closely aligned and both offer dynamic and ambitious services,” says Jack Baxter, Operations Director at Europa Worldwide Group, which has been a member of System Alliance Europe since 2024.

The UK-based company aims to establish additional connections between Great Britain and continental Europe and strengthen the reliability of cross-border transport.

FIVE DAILY DEPARTURES TO FRANCE

In France, the SAE member and founding shareholder Heppner Group, is replacing the previous partners Ziegler and DGS in Europa Road’s French network. Heppner will offer five daily departures from key locations across France. These include a new daily connection to Strasbourg, as well as services to Gonesse near Paris, Lille, Lyon and Le Mans.

NEW CONNECTION TO GREECE

Connections to Greece are also being expanded. Together with Goldair Group, which includes SAE member Hellas Logistics, Europa Road has launched a new weekly service to Athens. The partnership is designed to improve access to the Greek market and expand the range of services available in the region.

Trade relations underline the importance of efficient transport links. According to the UK Department for Business and Trade, the United Kingdom exported goods worth £1.7 billion to Greece in the four quarters up to the end of the first quarter of 2026 – an increase of 11.4 per cent compared with the same period a year earlier.

REGIONAL EXPERTISE MEETS INTERNATIONAL PRESENCE

“These partnerships combine regional market knowledge with an established international network built on high standards and proven processes – the same principles we uphold at System Alliance Europe,” comments SAE CEO Tassilo Schneider on this important development in Europa Road’s groupage network.

Europa Road is also investing in its own infrastructure. Its hub in Dartford, specifically designed for transit traffic, enables more than 40 daily groupage connections between Great Britain and Europe and serves over 50 cross-docking centres across continental Europe.

CLOSER CONNECTIVITY BETWEEN KEY MARKETS

Jack Baxter emphasises that Europa continues to invest in its operations to improve the efficiency of freight transport between Great Britain and Europe. The new partnerships represent a further step towards strengthening the network and providing customers with reliable connections along key European trade routes.

Patrick Forestier, Group International Network Director at Heppner, sees the partnership as a shared opportunity to expand connectivity between France and the UK. The collaboration is intended to give customers greater choice and reliability on this important European route while responding to their growing needs.

“Expanding Europa Road’s groupage network is a win for all SAE members and their customers,” adds Tassilo Schneider. “For European freight transport, this means additional connections and closer integration between key markets.”
