November 6, 2025 – In this interview, Dimitrios Flampouris, Road Freight Network Director at OB STREEM, explains how the company uses the alliance, what advantages this brings, and what goals are in focus for the coming years.
OB STREEM utilizes the System Alliance Europe as an integral part of its international road freight structure, connecting Greece and Southeast Europe with all key European markets. Through the SAE framework we manage both import and export groupage flow with full operational visibility, standardized procedures, and unified IT communication.
Our SAE-related operations primarily serve customers in the fashion, footwear, retail, and industrial sectors. Several multinational brands - especially within the fashion and lifestyle industry - rely on the network’s stability and transparency for their regular shipments between Central Europe, Greece, and the Balkans.
Within the SAE, OB STREEM maintains active and structured cooperation with partners in Italy, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, and the Scandinavian countries, ensuring direct and frequent connections with Greece and Southeast Europe. These routes form a robust network linking the Mediterranean with Central, Western, and Northern Europe, covering the main commercial corridors and enabling balanced two-way traffic across all key markets.
On an annual basis, we handle approximately 30,000 groupage shipments through the SAE network, distributed between import and export flows, with continuous year-on-year growth.
The SAE network provides OB STREEM with a structured, quality-driven, and transparent framework that ensures high service consistency and reliable transit times. The common IT standards, KPI monitoring, and quality system (bonus/penalty) contribute directly to operational improvement and long-term customer confidence.
What distinguishes SAE is the balance between independence and unity. Each partner remains a strong local, family-owned company while operating under a shared operational DNA. This unique combination guarantees reliability, short decision-making lines, and a cooperative culture that fosters genuine partnership and mutual trust across Europe.
The greatest added value lies in the network’s reputation, process standardization, and quality assurance system, which allow OB STREEM to serve demanding multinational accounts while maintaining flexibility. The joint visibility, trust, and cross-border cooperation among members also facilitate the development of new commercial synergies and optimized transport solutions.
Our main objective for 2026 is the full integration of OB STREEM subsidiaries in Romania, Bulgaria, and Serbia into the SAE network, ensuring unified processes, digital connectivity, and cross-dock alignment. In parallel, we aim to expand volumes on the DE–GR and FR–GR corridors and strengthen our collaboration with partners in Central and Northern Europe through targeted joint development initiatives.
In System Alliance Europe, OB STREEM has a strong partner at its side that combines not only operational efficiency but also cultural and entrepreneurial proximity. The combination of clear standards, digital transparency, and partnership-based cohesion forms the foundation for sustainable growth - both for OB STREEM and for the entire alliance.
